TipsForHandlingPetBirds > Little Nips Are Friendly
Sometimes, when a bird is sitting with you and apparently being well-behaved, you'll suddenly be bit! But don't worry, it's not a big bite, and it's not an attack.
See, it's customary, in bird flocks, for a bird who's being ignored to give just a little nip to the bird who's ignoring him or her, to remind the ignoring bird that it's time to start paying attention. That's all the bird means when he or she nips; pay attention to me! This bird loves you and wants to be your friend, cuddle (or otherwise interact with) them!
